ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTIONS

Waste reduction campaign 2014

Mission: To create a presentation for people to view in the school and in the community that demonstrates the benefits of recycling in the cafeteria and the impacts it is making on waste reduction in our school.

Directions: Working in the groups created from last class, you will be responsible for the tasks brainstormed last class. For each group, choose a facilitator, who will run your meeting and assign tasks, and choose a note taking, who will create a document in Google Drive. Share the document with me and record what your group did, any challenges and/or questions that may have come up.

GROUP TASKS

Progress report poster for lunch room. Using the data collected from last week to create a poster that is both a visual representation for staff and students and a numeric description of how we are doing. (Dell, Jessica and Lexus)

Interview/Survey students, custodians, lunch ladies, principal, teachers, Tania, past and present ecology students. Create survey questions that you can agree on either together or in groups. Try to be consistent about the message you want to get across based on your questions. Also consider how you will do it paper/pen, monkey survey. Then decide how you will tally and present the results of your survey. (Alyssa, Bobby, Jake, Shannyn, Brandon)

Data Collecting and organizing/charts. Using the data collected for last week and this coming week, brainstorm ways of organizing and presenting the data to be ready for a keynote presentation. (Alyssa F, Paige, Natalie)
