Please read this site. Then pick one issue and discuss three strategies that could address the issue. (think laws, education, change in attitude, tax breaks)
I chose Water... Here are my ideas to cut back on water consumption: 1. Only wash your laundry in full loads always 2. Wash fruits and vegetables in a pan instead of running water. 3. Collect water from your roof to water your lawn.
Three ways to consume water are, 1. While brushing your teeth, turn off the water. 2. Shorten your shower 3. Turn your faucet off all the way so it doesn't leak.
5 - Three strategies that could help with this issue would be selling more energy efficent cars for less that don't run on gas so people can actually afford them.. Another would be to have more houses run on solar energy or whatever so that they can warm the house without having to use gas. The way we could almost completely turn that around would be to make a law or something making it illegal to use regular cars that run on gas but that in it's self opens a whole other set of problems. *ChelseaC
I chose Clean Energy Vs. Dirty Energy. One source of clean energy would be water power attained by using the waves of the oceans, rivers, streams, waterfalls especially generate a lot energy on their own thanks to the force of the falling waters. A second source of clean energy would be wind mills, and a really neat idea would be that instead of putting them on hillsides and clearing away the land to make room for the windmills, put them in designated areas off shore where there's a constant wind blowing which could also replace the dangers of off shore drilling. A third source would be solar energy mainly for cars instead of houses, that way the cars could tak in the light for energy while people drove around durring the day and use stored energy at night. Solar panels on machinery would be a lot more efficient than on houses, save for the roofs, and in fields and clearings and what not, also taking away from the loss of land. ---Taylor---
I chose waste... 1.) Instead of always throwing stuff away, try and reuse certain stuff. 2.) Always dispose of trash in proper places, AKA don't litter. 3.) Try to recycle whenever you can because it prevents waste, and helps save money and many other tings.
I picked Water.. Three things that could help increase the water supply is turning off the water when you shampoo along with brushing your teeth. Another thing is using a little bit of water in the sink to wash dishes instead of leaving the water running. Lastly, when you go tinkle(cam) don't flush cause it's a waste of wa wa. Christa
I picked waste... One way to reduce waste is by limiting the trash going into landfills. Another way is to recycle bottles, newspaper and cardboard to be made into other new materials. Another way is composting old food instead of just throwing away.
8-Emily We can stop extinction by starting breeding programs and banning the hunting of animals. Also make their habitats more natural and more of a human free zone. Also genetic testing needs to stop because it's causing animals to get sick and pass that down to their young.
8. Ecosystems and Endangered Species Things we can do help prevent the extinction of endangered species is instead of putting them in environments surrounded by humans, instead we should place them in a human free zone extremely similar to their natural habitat. We also should stop the testing of animals, it's causing animals to become sick and pass that on to their young. Resulting in dying animals. A big problem that humans cause for the animals is we destroy their homes/habitats by building stores/houses etc. if we saved more land for the animals and helped to keep the environment clean the animals chance of survival is much greater. I choose Waste. -I think we should try and create buildings to re use the waste for some kind of gas or energy. -If we can't re-use waste, we should replace the waste with healthier things. Fast food places should use disposable rappers and bags so if something were to get dropped on the ground, it would be fine to stay-Like Sun Chips did. -People should stop buying bottled water, get a purifier, and then use a stainless steel water bottle. -Alexis
i choose global warming Mostly because it involves the whole planet, and will have an effect on everything. 1. the only real way to make a dramatic impact, is to cut down on alot of the waste were putting into the ozone, 2. another would be to utilize greener ways of transportation and how we manufacture the stuff we use 3. and the last would be to recycle, this is really the only good way to stop using the resources we have that impact the air
I picked Global warming..
